Exegy is seeking a highly motivated entry/mid-level Technical Business Analyst to work closely with other dedicated engineers in our Market Data Engineering group. The successful applicant will join an elite group of individuals charged with implementing and delivering all aspects of Exegy feed handler products. This role is focused on ensuring the software products have been designed, implemented, and delivered to a common market data model that allows our customers to maintain their edge in the most challenging IT-dependent sector in the world.
This will require an individual with excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work with multiple engineering teams and stakeholders. Successful candidates should have a strong work ethic and the ability to quickly learn complex concepts relating to market data processing systems. Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Exegy Market Data Model to include new technologies and asset classes
- Support the development and onboarding of all new market data venues
- Define and document standard market data normalization practices for key trading events, principles, and governance
- Develop processes and tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of market data management within Exegy
- Verify and validate new and existing feed data model designs
- Identify ways to automate testing and verification of market data feed normalization and behavior
- Assist with troubleshooting data normalization defects
- Identify deficiencies in the Exegy Market Data Model
- Support Customer Success and Operations teams with market data related inquiries and issues
- Proactively plan for the adaptation of the Exegy Market Data Model to regulatory and mandated changes in the marketplace
- Analyze financial market data to fulfil responsibilities as listed above
- Work with key stakeholders across the business (i.e. Development, QA, Operations and Product Management)
- Create, update, and publish market data feed documentation
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant industry experience
- 1 to 2 years experience in software development, in C/C preferred
- Experience with scripting languages, Python preferred
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, SUSE Linux)
- Previous experience in a data analytics role or using data analytics tools
- Experience working with development and QA teams
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities
- Effective communication – good oral and written interpersonal skills adequate for dealing & communicating clearly with people across all levels of the organization
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodology
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence
- Experience with real-time financial market data preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
