Position Overview:
We are seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) whose primary responsibility will be aphasia assessment for elderly patients. This role is ideal for an experienced SLP who enjoys focused diagnostic work in a boutique, outpatient clinical setting. The position is on-site, three days per week, with flexibility to expand responsibilities based on interest and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations for patients using standardized and clinically appropriate assessment tools
- Conduct speech, language, and cognitive-communication assessments as related to aphasia
- Accurately score, interpret, and document evaluation results
- Communicate findings clearly to physicians, patients, and families
- Collaborate with the medical team to support diagnosis, care planning, and follow-up recommendations
- Maintain timely, compliant clinical documentation
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Active Virginia SLP license
- Demonstrated experience or strong competency in aphasia assessment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Experience working with senior or geriatric populations preferred
- Korean-speaking and/or Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required
