Piper Companies is seeking a Sr/Mid-level Security Engineer for a leading technology organization in the Raleigh, NC area. The Sr/Mid-level Security Engineer will have a strong background in security monitoring, incident response, and cloud security, with hands-on experience in CSPM tools, vulnerability management, and SIEM platforms. This role is hybrid onsite two days per week in Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities For The Sr/Mid-level Security Engineer Include
Assist with the management and implementation of mission-critical infrastructure
Analyze environments and recommend improvements to security processes
Audit environments to ensure compliance and security best practices
Act as an escalation point for SOC analysts and provide mentorship
Implement and maintain web application security scanning tools
Investigate and respond to security incidents
Pilot and learn new security tools as needed
Requirements For The Sr/Mid-level Security Engineer Include
35 years of experience in security engineering or cybersecurity operations
Hands-on experience with CSPM tools (e.g., Wiz, Prisma Cloud) and vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys)
Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171.2)
Experience with Azure Office 365, SharePoint, and basic Windows/Linux server administration
Mid to advanced knowledge of AWS/Azure services
SIEM experience (Splunk or similar)
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Compensation For The Sr/Mid-level Security Engineer
$120,000$130,000 annually
