What Youll Do
- Create and maintain internal libraries, components, and utilities used by Scribd engineers
- Improve AWS infrastructure, including application networking and traffic routing, using Terraform
- Build, maintain, and improve tools and frameworks that streamline development workflows, including modernizing tooling, optimizing build processes, and enhancing development capabilities
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that increase efficiency and productivity
- 4 years of professional experience as a software engineer
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Curiosity-driven with a growth mindset
- Comfortable navigating DevOps workflows and modern cloud infrastructure
- Developer tooling CLIs
- Infrastructure as code and cloud automation experience, including AWS and Terraform
- Application networking, traffic routing, CDN configuration, and caching strategies
- Observability, performance profiling, and optimization
- A passion for improving developer experience and productivity
- A thoughtful approach to platform engineering that balances stability, speed, and simplicity
At Scribd, base pay is one part of total compensation and is determined within a range based on local labor benchmarks, role level, and geography. Salary ranges are provided for the following regions:
- California (SF Bay Area): 126,000 to 196,000
- United States (outside California): 103,500 to 186,500
- Canada: 131,500 CAD to 174,500 CAD
