Senior Manager, Data & Analytics Engineering

To fuel this mission, we are seeking a Senior Manager of Data and Analytics Engineering to shape and build our data strategy, drive insights and partner with leadership on critical business decisions.In this role, you will lead Gopuffs data and analytics engineering organization, responsible for the platform, pipelines and models that turn raw data into actionable insights across the company. Youll partner closely with business, product and technology leaders to shape our data strategy ensuring every decision is grounded in reliable, scalable and accessible data.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire high performing teams across data platform and analytics engineering, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement
• Define and execute Gopuffs data strategy, setting the vision for how data is collected, modeled and delivered to power analytics, experimentation and machine learning
• Own the architecture of Gopuffs modern data stack, ensuring it meets the companys evolving needs for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Partner cross functionally with business, product and operations leaders to prioritize data initiatives that drive measurable impact and align with company objectives
• Mentor and grow data and analytics engineers, developing strong technical leaders and promoting best practices in data modeling, ELT and observability
• Champion data quality, discoverability and reliability, ensuring metrics are trusted and reliable
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 8 years in data, analytics or software engineering, including at least 4 years leading technical teams
• Demonstrated success in aligning technical data initiatives with business strategy to deliver tangible, measurable outcomes
• Track record of building scalable data platforms and empowering teams to deliver analytical and ML solutions
• Exceptional communication skills and experience influencing senior leadership
• Passion for building data cultures that prioritize impact, reliability and accessibility
  
  

Technical Expertise

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (dbt preferred)
• Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and their underlying infrastructure (, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks)
• Experience building batch data pipelines using DAG-based tools such as Dagster or Airflow
• Exposure to modern BI and visualization tools (, Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience deploying applications and services to Kubernetes and using related tools in the Kubernetes ecosystem (, Helm, ArgoCD, Istio)
• Experience implementing DevOps best practices within the data platform, including solutions for CI/CD, data observability, monitoring, and lineage
• Experience designing and implementing event driven architectures using technologies such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or Azure Event Hubs
• Experience developing real-time data pipelines using frameworks such as Apache Beam, Flink, or Spark Streaming
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  
  

Compensation

• Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what wed reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. • This role is eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus and participation in Gopuffs equity incentive plan.
• Base Salary Range:$165,000 - $195,000
