- As a Junior Database Administrator, you will assist in maintaining and supporting our diverse SQL environments while learning best practices for database administration.
- You’ll work closely with senior DBAs and application teams to ensure database performance, integrity, and availability. Assist with monitoring SQL databases for performance and availability.
- Support routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and patching.
- Help troubleshoot basic database issues under guidance from senior team members.
- Learn to optimize queries and indexes for better performance.
- Participate in implementing security standards and compliance requirements.
- Assist with database installations, upgrades, and configuration.
- Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server or similar database platforms.
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in a technical role.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, GCP, or AWS).
- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, T-SQL).
- Internship or hands-on experience with database administration tasks.
