The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will design, automate, and deploy cloud infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. This role supports Landing Zone development, cloud foundations, and application migration architectures across Azure (preferred) and AWS environments, with a focus on secure and scalable delivery in regulated settings. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Terraform SME, developing reusable modules, automating provisioning, and enforcing IaC best practices.
- Build and maintain Landing Zones or equivalent cloud foundation architectures in Azure and/or AWS.
- Support application migration by designing secure, scalable cloud architectures and implementing infrastructure via IaC.
- Build secure network and identity architectures (VNET/VPC, segmentation, RBAC/IAM, policies, monitoring).
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams to define cloud standards, guardrails, and automation patterns.
- Optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, scale, and cost.
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, IaC documentation, and operational procedures.
- Expert-level proficiency with Terraform (modules, state management, CI/CD, Git).
- years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure automation.
- Strong understanding of IaC principles, cloud automation, and lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of cloud compute, networking, identity, security, and monitoring.
- Experience with at least one enterprise cloud provider (Azure preferred; AWS valuable).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience with Azure Government or AWS GovCloud.
- Experience building Azure Landing Zones or AWS Control Towerstyle architectures.
- Certifications (Azure AZ-, AZ-, AZ-, AZ-; AWS SA/DevOps/Security).
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Experience supporting government, defense, or highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST -, DoD IL frameworks.
