- Client is currently seeking an experienced MSSQL Azure Database Administrator (DBA) to join its team
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer SQL Server databases across multiple environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
- Design, implement, and maintain database security protocols and access controls.
- Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring efficient query execution and system responsiveness.
- Implement proactive monitoring solutions to identify and address potential issues before they impact system performance.
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure databases can accommodate future growth in data volume and user activity.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to scale database resources as needed.
- Implement and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) solutions, including AlwaysOn Mirroring, replication (Snapshot and Transactional), and Log Shipping.
- Write and optimize complex T-SQL scripts and stored procedures.
- Troubleshoot and optimize database-related issues using T-SQL.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, gather requirements, and address concerns.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server database administration, including performance tuning, security management, and backup and recovery.
- Experience with HADR solutions, Azure cloud services integration, and T-SQL scripting.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident/Service Request/Problem/Change Management).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure DBA Associate) are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer-focused, service-oriented, security-minded, able to multitask.
