Director of Software Engineering

As the Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer Banking - Deposits team, you will lead a technical area and promote impact across teams, technologies, and projects within various departments. You will utilize your extensive knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to oversee multiple complex projects and initiatives. In this role, you will serve as the primary decision maker for your teams and act as a catalyst for innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities

• Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
• Drives the implementation of robust observability frameworks to ensure technology solutions are measurable, maintainable, and aligned with governance standards for cost and operational efficiency.
• Makes strategic decisions on operational tooling and procedures, balancing budget constraints with the need for resilient, maintainable systems that meet firm-wide objectives.
• Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
• Influences the adoption of automated deployment and integration pipelines, fostering collaboration between product, technology, and business teams while upholding the firm's values of diversity and inclusion.
• Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
• Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
  
  

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10 years applied experience. In addition, 5 years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
• Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Practical cloud native experience
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
