Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliation, debits & credits, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including statements aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Supervise and perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and compliance with organizational policies.
- Manage cash management activities, including forecasting, banking relationships, and liquidity analysis to optimize cash flow.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial statements.
- Utilize advanced accounting software such as ComputerEase, or similar platforms to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Develop budgets, perform variance analysis, and support financial planning initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all financial activities, including journal entries, account analyses, and audit trails.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting within the construction or manufacturing industries.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and regulatory reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as ComputerEase, or equivalent tools; experience with financial management software is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed financial analysis and prepare clear financial reports.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting complex information clearly.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and technical accounting issues relevant to construction/manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
