MAC Prefab is seeking an experienced Cold-Formed Steel Designer to join our team in Phoenix. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced BIM environment and has hands-on experience designing wall panels and truss systems for prefabricated construction projects.
We are looking for a motivated team member who understands constructability, coordination, and production-focused design.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cold-formed steel wall panel and truss designs
- Produce shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and coordinated BIM models
- Coordinate with internal engineering, production, and project management teams
- Review architectural and structural plans for design integration
- Assist with clash detection and model coordination in BIM workflows
- Support prefab manufacturing and field installation efforts through accurate modeling and detailing
- Maintain drawing standards, revisions, and project documentation
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in wall panel and truss design
- Experience working in a BIM environment
- Strong understanding of cold-formed steel framing systems
Proficiency in:
- FrameCAD
- Revit
- MWF
- MiTek
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multiple CFS design platforms
- Understanding of prefab/manufacturing workflows
- Experience coordinating with engineers, architects, and field teams
- Knowledge of panelization and truss fabrication processes
Position Requirements
- Must be local to the Phoenix metro area
- This is an in-person position
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
