About the Role:
As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in supporting and leading asset market and trading activities, acquisition and divestiture efforts, and strategic analysis for hedging and trading opportunities. You will leverage your deep understanding of U.S. power markets, advanced analytical and programming skills, and structuring expertise to drive commercial success.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Lead market analysis to identify and evaluate short- and long-term trading opportunities across commodity markets (Power, FTRs, emissions, RECs, natural gas, oil, coal, basis products).
- Oversee and guide third parties executing day-to-day commercial strategies for generating facilities (bidding, fuel procurement, outage coordination, etc.).
- Apply advanced industry fundamental and technical analysis to research market dynamics and assess trade and hedge positions.
- Monitor and interpret market, industry, product, and pricing trends to inform trading strategies.
- Structure and negotiate documentation for complex trades, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Provide asset valuation and strategic support for acquisition and development activities.
- Lead assessment and underwriting of revenue streams for target power generation facilities.
- Collaborate with acquisition and development teams to evaluate and implement strategic hedging alternatives.
- Develop and optimize power generation hedging strategies across market regions to maximize profitability and minimize margin volatility.
- Formulate and implement risk management and trading strategies, ensuring compliance with strategic objectives and risk controls.
- Apply advanced statistical and econometric analysis to power and gas data sets to generate actionable insights and predictive models.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of best practices within the team.
Qualifications

- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Have a minimum of five years of trading, structuring, and/or analytical support experience within the power industry.
- Demonstrate advanced analytic, modeling, and fundamental research skills, including proficiency in programming languages (writing, reading, and editing code).
- Possess deep working knowledge of trade capture and programming systems.
- Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Can manage multiple complex projects independently with exemplary follow-through.
