What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Executive Scouting?
Skills Needed:
- Knowledge of and experience with Quick Books, Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, (Access, preferred)
- Associate degree in accounting (minimum requirement)
- Ability to analyze and report financial data
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task

- Strong communication ability
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable on weekly basis
- Process payroll semi-monthly or as contractually required
- Prepare and make bank deposits regularly (at least once a week)
- Transfer funds, as needed, between bank accounts
- Keep the Executive Director and Board Treasurer informed on the current status of operational bank accounts
- Prepare and deposit payroll taxes in accordance with federal guidelines
- Prepare and submit quarterly federal payroll reports as well as quarterly state unemployment reports
- Assist the Executive Director in the annual budget preparation and revisions
- Prepare monthly financial reports and other reports as needed for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Maintain and provide documentation and reports for the annual audit
- Maintain financial records in an organized manner (hard copies as well as technology files)
- Consistently maintain financial records using the Quick Books program
- Prepare and file year-end W-2’s and the 1099
- Ensure proper checks and balances on requests for and payment of expenditures
- Maintain specific records relating to grant allocations as well as assist with grant proposal preparations (fiscal components)
- Analyze fiscal data to provide input for decision-making by Executive Director and Board of Directors
- Attend Board meetings or other Board-related meetings, as needed
