Plumbing Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our team in North Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This includes working with pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment to ensure efficient water supply and drainage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures, including water heaters, toilets, sinks, and bathtubs.

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes to determine the layout of plumbing systems.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide effective solutions.

• Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines.

• Assemble and install valves, fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.

• Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems using air and water pressure gauges.

• Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, and other professionals on plumbing projects.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes and regulations.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.

• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients about work performed, issues found, and recommended solutions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid North Carolina plumbing license.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a plumber.

• Proficiency in using plumbing tools, equipment, and materials.

• Strong understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and heights.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in backflow prevention and/or other specialized areas of plumbing.

• Experience with residential, commercial and industrial plumbing systems.

• Familiarity with modern plumbing technologies and green plumbing solutions.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions.

• May be required to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.

• Must be able to lift heavy materials and equipment, and perform physically demanding tasks.
