What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant General Manager Pickleball and Racquet Sports position at Executive Health and Sports Center?
ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The AGM’s purpose and scope are to manage all day-to-day operations of the Pickleball & Racquet Sports business unit(s) and or division directors or managers they are responsible for, and to produce positive results for all key stakeholders. An individual in an AGM role is a generalist who is familiar with all areas of the business units they oversee, and can coordinate processes and operations across them by providing the necessary resources and support for success. This includes shaping the work environment for all downline staff in their respective business units and defining performance standards approved by the company’s officers in order set the pace and quality of people’s efforts; the business concepts that define what the company is like for staff to work in, how it operates; and the people concepts and values that prevail at the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily operations of the Pickleball & Racquet Sports unit(s) under management.
- Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business and
business units assigned in concert with middle level management.
- Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
- Provide direct management of key functional managers and or directors.
- Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
- Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the unit's offerings to customers and members.
- Engage in key or targeted member and or customer activities.
- Oversee key hiring and talent development programs.
- Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure, physical plant adaptations, special uses, and talent.
- Communicate strategy and results to the unit's directors, managers, and downline staff.
- Report key results to corporate officers.
- Engage with corporate officers in broader organizational strategic planning.
- Interfacing, coordinating, and collaborating with enterprise departments for maintenance, marketing, IT, Finance, and HR.
- Providing career development.
- Financial forecasting and project management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WORKING CONDITIONS:
Applicant must be able to commute from facility to facility if necessary, ability to carry items of up to 25 lbs. flexibility to work nights and weekends depending on the business needs. This position also requires the ability to work offsite when required on project-based tasks.
EXPERIENCE:
- MBA and or deep industry experience preferred.
- Five to seven (5-7) years’ experience managing a staff of 20
- Experience with Pickleball required.
- Experience with other Racquet Sports preferred.
- Business, Sales & Marketing, Health & Fitness and or Sports and Recreation, backgrounds preferred.
- HR experience preferred.

COMPENSATION:
The Executive offers a highly competitive compensation package for senior management positions which include, a base salary range of $50-$60K, major medical insurance, dental insurance, paid vacation, health club membership, the ability to participate in the companies “Performance Based Incentive Program”, and or fringe benefits consistent with the company’s offerings.
