The company is seeking a senior-level Quality Assurance Test Engineer to work with their development team out of their headquarters in Monmouth County, Central New Jersey.
Job Description
This is a four-day onsite role working at the company's headquarters in Monmouth County, New Jersey, with one day remote.
The candidate will perform quality assurance functions by testing the Index Engines' software application and its operation with various software backup applications, including Dell Avamar, PPDM, Networker, Veritas NetBackup, IBM Spectrum, and Commvault Simpana.
The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining the software backup applications, upgrading systems to the latest software version, keeping licenses up to date, and working with various operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a Scrum team
- Understand requirements and user stories for features being developed and system's operation
- Write and/or execute test plans regarding regression testing for the backup applications
- Generate data and/or backups required for testing backup applications using databases, virtual machines, and/or file systems
- Integrate software modules and ensure that system operates per requirements
- Research via the web and keep servers, operating systems, agents, and backup applications current regarding upgrading to their latest version
- Support and perform QA testing on the application and be experienced with testing databases from different perspectives
- Attend weekly engineering team meetings to report on project status and understand the organization's goals and priorities
Requirements
- Minimum 4-7 years of professional experience in QA Engineering, with regression experience
- Software Backup Application Technology, Data & File Storage: 4 years
- Linux OS: 4 years
- Bash – Shell scripting and/or SSH Command line operation: Python: 1 year
- Databases experience (structure, creation, backups, encryption, additional features): 4 years
- Server and Virtual Machine experience
- Agile Development methodology
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision and in a matrixed organization
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Preferred Skills
- Windows OS: 3 years
- C/C : 1 year
- Master's degree in computer science
