Part 135 Second in Command Lear Pilot

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DAILY TASKS

The first officer reports directly to the captain during flight operations and the Chief Pilot for administrative action. His duties and responsibilities include:

1. 
   Assuming command if the captain becomes incapacitated.
2. 
   Aiding the captain in the safe conduct of flight and performing all duties assigned by the captain.
3. 
   Being familiar and able to perform all duties and responsibilities required by the captain.
4. 
   Notifying the captain of any discrepancies concerning the flight or passengers without regard to the insignificance of the discrepancy.
5. 
   Performing duties in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, policies and procedures in General Operations Manual and Aircraft Operating Manual.
6. 
   Compliance of all TSA regulations, and assisting passengers in these standards.
7. 
   Acts as Ground Security Coordinator (GSC) in conjunction with the captain for FAR Part 135 flight operations;
8. 
   Maintaining currency of certificate and qualifications required for assigned crewmember position.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

To serve as a first officer a pilot must:

1. Hold commercial pilot certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and an instrument rating.
2. Hold a Second Class medical certificate.
3. Have at least 500 hours total flight time.
4. He must be highly knowledgeable of the company manuals, FAA regulations, Operation Specifications, Flight Manuals and other instructions pertinent to his duties
