We are currently looking for an Application Analyst in the IT Department:
Primary Objective:
Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Application Analyst to serve as the primary technical liaison between the IT Department and operational end users across Drilling, Completions, Production Engineering, and Reservoir teams within our oil and gas operations. The role involves analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining computer applications to meet business needs. It relies on a solid foundation in IT application support with hands-on experience using upstream oil and gas workflows and software platforms. The position will work closely with software vendors, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure application and system availability, data integrity, and technology investment value.
Major Functions and Scope:
▪ Provide Tier 2 support for E&P applications including Peloton WellView Allez, Aries, and Spotfire
▪ Manage user access, security permissions, and apply software updates/patches in coordination with software vendors and system administrators
▪ Build scripts and programs to automate manual processes and maintain data integrations across third-party reporting and BI tools, including E&P accounting platforms like Excalibur/BOLO/Enertia
▪ Partner with engineers and field techs to troubleshoot data gaps, monitor system performance, and translate business needs into technical solutions
▪ Create end-user training guides and maintain IT knowledge base documentation
▪ Assist with AI-driven analytics and predictive tools to enhance operational efficiency
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
3 years of IT application support experience, with at least 1 year in an upstream oil and gas environment.
Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Suite and MS Office (SharePoint, Power BI, Excel Power Query, Outlook).
- Experience working directly with software vendors, engineers, geoscientists, or field operations personnel in an operator support environment.
- Understanding of upstream oil and gas business processes including well lifecycle management, production reporting, completions data analysis, and reserves estimation.
- Knowledge in data management, SCADA system utilization, AI coding technology, and project collaboration tools.
- Experience with ITSM, help-desk ticketing workflows, cybersecurity best practices, and data management systems.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities (English).
- Ability to work independently with high accuracy and accountability.
- Familiarity with Python, Snowflake, Power Automate, or AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot / Claude Code) is a plus.
