Key Responsibilities

About the opportunity 👇

Information Security & Compliance

• Own and manage day-to-day operations in Vanta, including evidence collection, control monitoring, and audit preparation.
• Support compliance activities across ISO 27001, ISO27018, SOC 2, HIPAA and GDPR.
• Maintain and improve security policies, procedures, and risk registers.
• Act as an escalation point for security alerts and support incident response efforts.
• Assist with internal and external audit cycles, ensuring documentation and evidence are audit-ready.
  
  

Vulnerability Management & Tooling

• Help manage vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking, working with engineering teams to address findings promptly.
• Maintain and configure security tools, working toward automated detection and response where possible.
• Build and improve cloud-based workflows to automate repetitive security tasks (e.g. security questionnaire responses, evidence collection, access reviews).
  
  

Sales Team Support

• Complete customer security questionnaires and RFP security sections for the US sales team.
• Join sales calls to provide security expertise when customers need assurance on our security posture.
• Contribute to building a scalable, automated approach to security questionnaire responses.
  
  

Boston IT Point of Contact

• Act as the primary IT contact for Boston-based staff, coordinating with the global IT team for support and troubleshooting.
• Ensure the IT and security function is visible and approachable across the Boston office.
  
  

Cross-Department Collaboration

• Proactively engage with teams across the business to identify security risks and improvement opportunities before they escalate.
• Partner with HR on secure onboarding processes and with Product on integrating security into development workflows.
• Act as captain of the champion programme - making security feel accessible, not bureaucratic.
  
  

Security Awareness & Training

• Support delivery of security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations and training campaigns.
• Manage the internal Defender score, tracking completion and engagement.
  
  

Required

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years of experience in information security, IT operations, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR.
• Experience with GRC or compliance platforms (Vanta experience is a plus).
• Comfortable providing hands-on IT support alongside security responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills - able to explain security concepts to non-technical colleagues and customers.
• Self-starter who can manage their own workload without close supervision.
• Happy to be in the Boston office regularly - this role includes duties that can only be carried out in-office.
