This role requires a solid understanding of the pathophysiology of cancer and the ability to deliver comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning (30%): Conduct thorough assessments of patients' needs regularly, developing and updating individualized care plans in accordance with physician orders and nursing best practices.
- Direct Patient Care (30%): Provide hands-on nursing services, including medication administration, treatments, responding to call lights, assisting with transfers, and responding to alarms promptly.
- Treatment Evaluation & Collaboration (20%): Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments, collaborating with the healthcare team to modify care plans for optimal outcomes.
- Order Processing & Follow-Up (10%): Accurately process physician orders and follow up on medication changes and clarifications to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Current and Valid Registered Nurse License (License Number, State of licensure) is mandatory.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Experience in Medical-Surgical or Oncology Units is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cancer pathophysiology and medical care protocols.
- Excellent clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with compassion and professionalism.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or oncology setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Competitive weekly stipend of $326.85 and taxable pay of $539.96.
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week, providing stability and predictable scheduling.
