The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller overseeing Hotel Drover.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Embody the values guiding principles of Hotel Drover
- Ability to manage multiple functions and deliver results in a demanding, fast paced environment
- Adherence to all policies stated in the team member handbook.
- Review and oversee the daily audits and the preparation of the daily revenue journal.
- Analyzes various balance sheet accounts, prepares lead schedules, and records necessary adjustments.
- Analyzes and records necessary accruals to reflect accurate liabilities for an accounting period.
- Participates in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
- Prepare journal entries essential to building an accurate general ledger reflecting all internal and intercompany transactions for each business unit
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, vendor accounts, and customer accounts in accordance with departmental policy
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of Intercompany related party receivables and payables
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and reporting package for all Hotel Drover managed business units
- Assist in the coordination of and preparation for financial audits as required
- Assist in the creation of budget reports and in preparation of annual budgets
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files
- Assist in the execution and implementation of various financial projects and system initiatives
- Work with all business partners to streamline the business and management
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Skilled in spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Accredited College or University Preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience in hospitality environment, or large regional CPA accounting firm
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and creative thinking aptitude in both an independent and team environment.
- Intermediate understanding of GAAP accounting
