As a Banquet Captain, you will oversee banquet operations on the day of the event including directing banquet staff members, interfacing with clients as the event lead, compliance with the final Banquet Event Order (BEO), and overall client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Embody the values guiding principles of Hotel Drover
- Ability to manage multiple functions and deliver results in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders while acting as an extension of the Hotel Drover brand
- Provide guests with excellent customer service and accommodate any needs for reasonable special requests
- Check all room sets before each event begins
- Manage and supervise banquet staff at an event
- Ensure cleanliness of china, glassware, and silverware
- Review all banquet orders
- Assist and support banquet chef relating to food items
- Ensure timely service of food items
- Complete guest checks with accuracy
MUST-HAVES:
- Passion for creating an amazing experience for our clients and guests
- Strong knowledge of Food and Wine
- Creative thinking and strategic skills
- Experience with Social Functions
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities; passion for collaboration
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
- Ability and willingness to follow established processes and procedures.
- Work with all departments as needed to communicate and coordinate event details
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a banquet captain or lead server
- TABC Certification completed prior to training
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
- The team member is required to perform all necessary duties of the job. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
