Lead Hardware Engineer

We’re looking for a Lead Hardware Engineer to join our team, reporting to VP, Software Engineering. In this role, you’ll help shape how we design, develop, test and implement high-speed circuits on Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) to improve performance of Nasdaq trading systems. What You’ll Do: Translate system requirements into FPGA designs using HDL Simulate and debug designs in a virtual environment to ensure functionality before hardware implementation. Create test benches and simulation scenarios. Implement designs on physical FPGA devices. Achieve timing closure and validate system performance. Work with hardware and software engineers to integrate FPGA products with Nasdaq trading systems. What You’ll Bring: Technical skills: Proficiency in VHDL. (Verilog/System Verilog is a plus) Strong understanding of very high speed digital logic design Familiarity with Xilinx FPGA devices (Altera/Intel is a plus) Knowledge of networking protocols and PCIe (high-speed DMA) Familiarity with memory controllers (DDR, HBM Comfortable in a Linux environment Non-technical skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Education Required: At least Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Master’s a plus); or equivalent work experience. Experience Required: A minimum of 8 years experience in FPGA design This position will be located in New York and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates. The base pay range for this role is $142,900 - $238,100. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth.
