Excelsior University seeks a detail-oriented Salesforce Administrator to optimize CRM performance, support users, faculty management and drive data-informed engagement across the student lifecycle from prospect to enrolled student.
The Salesforce Administrator is a key member of the technology and operations team, partnering with staff to design, implement, and enhance relationship management initiatives across the student lifecycle, including recruitment, enrollment, persistence and also faculty management. The role is on a team that supports configuration and day-to-day administration of Salesforce, ensuring best practices and scalable solutions that meet evolving needs.
Responsibilities include providing end user support, and building custom objects, fields, formulas, reports, and dashboards. The Administrator develops validation rules, gathers and documents business requirements, and implements system enhancements. The role collaborates across departments to drive effective CRM usage, manages user access and security, ensures data integrity, and troubleshoots system issues. Technical documentation and ongoing professional development are also expected.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and an strong communicator, with experience in Salesforce administration and translating business needs into system solutions. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, Salesforce Administrator certification, and 3–5 years of experience, with Apex knowledge a plus.

Spend less time commuting and more time focusing on meaningful work or personal priorities. Core hours are 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, including a 1-hour lunch, for a 37.5-hour week.

• Provide high-quality end user support to users of the Salesforce.
• Manage workflow for the CRM system.
• Create and manage custom objects, fields, formulas, custom reports and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain validation rules and custom workflow.
• Determine and document business user requirements.
• Develop and implement enhancements to the CRM system as required.
• Work with internal and external staff to use the CRM in an efficient, effective manner.
• Manage access rights for Salesforce.
• Perform data integrity and manipulation tasks.
• Troubleshot issues reported by all CRM users as needed.
• Write technical documentation.
• Follow best practices in the use of the Salesforce.
• Attend professional conferences and training courses as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in the Information Technology or Communications fields or related disciplines.
• Customer Relationship Management Systems administration preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce development using Apex, nice to have.
• Certified Salesforce Platform Administrator preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with Salesforce is strongly preferred.
The hiring salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $95,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
