Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool Maker Mold Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and maintaining precision Plastic Injection molds and tooling used in plastics injection molding. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality components by creating accurate, durable, and efficient molds. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technologies and contribute to innovative manufacturing processes. Our shop holds a certification of ISO 9001:2015.
Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models using Mastercam.
- Operate CNC machining centers, and Surface Grinders fabricate mold components with precision.
- Program CNC machines with Mastercam to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Perform mold assembly, fitting, and finishing using hand tools, and fabrication skills to achieve tight tolerances.
- Conduct precision measurements with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure proper fit and function of mold parts.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes for quality control purposes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot mold issues and implement improvements for efficiency and longevity.
- Utilize knowledge of plastics injection molding to optimize mold performance in production environments.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tool Maker or Mold Maker within a manufacturing setting, preferably involving plastics injection molding.
- Strong proficiency in Mastercam and Mold Building.
- Skilled in CNC programming and operation of CNC Mills, Surface Grinder, and inspections tools.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality assurance.
- Hands-on experience with Plastic Injection Molds, assembly of tooling components, and use of hand tools.
- Mechanical knowledge related, machining processes of Plastic Injection Molds, Mold Repair, or Revisions.
- Familiarity with Mold Building.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and apply math skills for complex calculations involved in tool fabrication.
