Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician

Excelsior Orthopaedics is seeking a Sports Medicine Physician specializing in the comprehensive, non-surgical care of sports-related and musculoskeletal conditions. This role focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered care to athletes and active individuals of all ages within a collaborative, multidisciplinary orthopaedic practice.

The ideal candidate has interest and experience in diagnostic and procedural musculoskeletal ultrasound, is skilled in concussion management, and is passionate about conservative treatment, injury prevention, and optimizing return-to-activity outcomes. Physicians will work closely with orthopaedic surgeons, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and sports performance professionals to deliver coordinated, evidence-based care.

Position Highlights

• Non‑surgical sports medicine within a large, respected orthopaedic group
• Established patient base with immediate clinical volume

• Evaluation and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries
• Concussion evaluation and management
• Musculoskeletal ultrasound–guided diagnostics and procedures
• Coverage of high school, collegiate, and community athletics (scope tailored to interest)
• On‑site imaging, physical therapy, and ancillary services

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Primary Care Sports Medicine
• Fellowship training in Sports Medicine
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure
• Experience or certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in concussion evaluation and management
• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient‑centered, conservative care
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
