Key Responsibilities
- Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care treatment plans.
- Provide care for pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, burns, traumatic wounds, ostomies, and other skin conditions.
- Perform routine skin assessments and identify residents at risk for skin breakdown.
- Administer wound care treatments in accordance with physician orders and evidence-based practices.
- Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy, dietary, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize resident outcomes.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on wound prevention, treatment plans, and proper skin care techniques.
- Evaluate nutritional status, pressure-relieving devices, and other factors affecting wound healing.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of assessments, treatments, and resident progress.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and facility policies related to wound care and infection prevention.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience, preferably in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care.
- Previous wound care experience strongly preferred.
- Wound Care Certification (WCC, WOCN, or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
