Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
- Inventory and label resident clothing to ensure proper identification.
- Handle soiled and contaminated linens according to infection control policies and safety procedures.
- Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and designated departments.
- Clean and maintain laundry equipment and work areas.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms, restrooms, hallways, common areas, floors, windows, fixtures, and other surfaces.
- Empty trash receptacles and restock housekeeping and restroom supplies.
- Assist with terminal cleaning of resident rooms following discharge or transfer.
- Follow established cleaning schedules, infection prevention guidelines, and OSHA safety standards.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
- Promote a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 2 year of laundry and/or housekeeping experience required.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of proper laundry procedures, cleaning techniques, and infection control practices.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry laundry carts and supplies throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must maintain resident confidentiality and treat all residents with dignity and respect.
- Must successfully complete required training and comply with all facility policies and safety regulations.
