Duties
- Design and develop electrical wiring harnesses, schematics, and system layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PCB (Printed Circuit Board) designs, FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) modules, and SoC (System on Chip) components into overall system architecture.
- Conduct root cause analysis on electrical failures or performance issues, implementing corrective actions to optimize system functionality.
- Perform engineering testing and validation of wire harnesses and electrical systems in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Utilize simulation tools like Simulink, MATLAB, or SystemVerilog for system development verification and signal processing analysis.
- Engage in manufacturing processes including soldering, surface mount technology (SMT), and assembly troubleshooting to ensure high-quality production outputs.
- Develop project schedules, coordinate timelines, and manage deliverables to meet project milestones efficiently while maintaining rigorous quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on electrical systems design and development.
- Strong proficiency in electrical schematic design, circuit design, and electronics engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience with PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer), CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit), and simulation platforms (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C , Perl, or scripting for automation and system troubleshooting purposes.
- Familiarity with FPGA programming, control systems, firmware development, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Mechanical knowledge related to mechanical engineering principles including surface mount technology (SMT), mechanical assembly techniques, and vision inspection systems.
- Ability to perform debugging using tools like ohmmeters or oscilloscopes; experience with electrical building codes such as NEC is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis; strong communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with electrical expertise to support system integration involving mechanical components like Revit or MicroStation for structural design.
