Role Summary
The Azure Network Engineer will serve as a hands-on expert responsible for designing, supporting, and operating Azure network services across enterprise workloads. The role emphasizes secure connectivity, fault isolation, performance optimization, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and operate Azure Virtual Networks (VNets):
- Subnets, IP planning
- Hub‑spoke and hybrid topologies
- VNet peering (regional/global)
- Manage Azure Load Balancing services:
- Azure Front Door
- Application Gateway
- Traffic Manager
- Operate Azure NAT Gateway:
- SNAT capacity planning
- Outbound connectivity validation
- Support Azure VPN Gateway:
- Site‑to‑Site (S2S) and Point‑to‑Site (P2S)
- BGP routing and failover
- Manage Private Endpoints / Private Link:
- Producer‑consumer access models
- Private DNS Zones
- Operate Cloud-native firewalls:
- Azure Firewall (Standard/Premium)
- Network Security Groups (NSG)
- Application Security Groups (ASG)
- Implement routing control using UDRs and forced tunneling
- Perform L2/L3 incident management, RCA, and stakeholder communication
- Implement network monitoring & observability:
- Azure Monitor
- Network Watcher
- NSG Flow Logs
- Coordinate escalations with Microsoft Azure Support
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–12 years in networking with 5 years in Azure
- Deep hands-on expertise in:
- Azure networking services
- Firewall and security controls
- Hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute is a plus)
- Strong understanding of enterprise network security and Zero Trust
- Experience supporting mission-critical production workloads
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure Network Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect certification
- Experience in multi-cloud or GCP environments
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
