Excellence Community Schools is seeking a passionate, patient, quick-thinking, & innovative Music Teacher. This position currently includes responsibility for classroom music for Elementary or Middle School. Experience in a classroom music setting engaging all children is desired.

Responsibilities:
- Provides instruction in music in a variety of settings & uses effective instructional techniques tailored to individual student’s goals and objective & provides instruction and support in the area of music education.
- Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
- Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards.
- Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
- Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions.
- Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior.
- Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Connecticut State Teaching Certification in Education/Music Grades 1-6 or Middle School required
- A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in music education, working with children, and providing music instruction in an urban school setting is required.
- Passionate about teaching music and enforcing the learning of music concepts required.
- Have educational and/or professional training in developing and implementing a music education program for children
- Salary Range: ($53,235- $118,163). Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
