Full Time Kitchen Assistant

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Utility employee assists in general cleaning and organizing of kitchen areas and works as a support employee to other Dietary staff members to ensure successful operation of kitchen functions. This is a full time position. We are looking for people with open availability. You should be available to work weekends and holidays.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:

• Is knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment
• Supports and cooperates with specific procedures and programs for:

- Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs

- Confidentiality of all data including resident, employee and operations data

- Quality Improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements

- Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal discriminatory behavior

• Supports and participates in common teamwork:

- Cooperates and works together with all co-workers

- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations

- Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns

- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and clean equipment in kitchen areas (Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, etc. by using high-temp dishwasher or 3-bay sink)
• Organize and put up stock when deliveries are made in freezer, cooler and dry storage areas
• Maintain, clean and organize food storage areas according to supervisor’s direction.
• Assist in each area of department as needed, including: kitchen prep, dietary food service line, dish washing, dining room, etc.
• Cleans tables and sets them to be ready for use by residents and guests
• Move tables and arrange dining room for special party’s
• Cleans dining area after each meal
• Maintains a clean server station and work area throughout shift
• Re-stock assigned stations and cooler area during each shift

This is a full time position. We are looking for people with open availability. You should be available to work weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour
