JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Sales is responsible for selling Excell Brands product to assigned customers. This position will work closely with the Senior Director of Sales to sell seasonal and everyday programs, achieve sales budget, establish market competitiveness and distribution.
ORGANIZATIONAL REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the Senior Director of Sales.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key customers/brokers to implement strategies for an expanding customer base to sell Excell Brands products and grow revenue and retail programs.
- Maintains assigned regional account relationships and develops and implements strategic account plans to grow revenue and retail programs within those regional accounts.
- Establishes elevated levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency in planning and forecasting to ensure the delivery of the appropriate product to customers in a timely and efficient manner, while optimizing production planning and minimizing out of stock items.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Excell product offering to optimize sales efforts and remain up to date with new product initiatives.
- Maintain effective and timely internal communication with key stakeholders and sales operations to ensure adjustments to customer strategies are understood and available resources aligned efficiently.
- Manage execution of everyday business in partnership with key accounts, and work in conjunction with sales operations to meet and exceed customer expectations, including item setup/ maintenance, coordination, inventory management, etc.
- Initiates sales process by scheduling appointments; making initial presentation; understanding account requirements.
- Closes sales by building rapport with potential account; explaining product and service capabilities; overcoming objections; preparing contracts.
- Expand sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services, developing new applications.
- Contributes information to market strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from accounts.
- Works with Senior Director of Sales to project expected sales volume and profit for both existing and new products.
- Collaborate with Senior Director of Sales to deliver sales objectives and annual sales plans in line with assigned sales budget, for assigned regional accounts, regions, and channels of distribution.

- Travel required approximately 30% or as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years outside sales experience with one or more CPG company
- Trading Card or Toy Industry experience preferred
- Experience calling on Customers at a HQ level preferred
- A “hunter” mentality is necessary with a proven ability to close sales
- Broker management and business development experience is preferred
- Account Management Skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point

- Ability to develop accurate forecasts, strategic problem solving and negotiation skills

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:
The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, sitting, walking, and standing functions. The position also requires frequent repetitive motion activities. Candidate must be able to read print and computer-based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to hot and cold temperature.
INTELLECTUAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The occupant of this position must be able to perform the responsibilities of the position well under pressure. The position requires adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. This position requires the ability to manage a number of projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of others. It also requires adaptability to fluctuate between priorities daily while being responsive to needs as they arise.
