It’s not easy to sell machines primarily over the phone - especially when your responsibilities extend beyond your own sales. Together, we help small and large companies make complex buying decisions about critical capital equipment - even when the way they’ve always done it is still kind of working.
That's why we're looking for a superb technical sales rep who has mastered prospecting, consultative selling, and creating urgency around capital investments, has sold successfully from an inside sales role, and has the technical competence to serve as the company’s product expert for these machines.
The Company
SureKap is a key brand in the Excelis Automation portfolio, and the focus of this role. We sell to food, beverage, personal care, and chemical companies. Excelis encompasses four other well-respected North American machinery companies across filling, conveying, labeling, and aftermarket support.:
- AB Technologies — labeling and padding
- Kraken Automation (Canada) — conveyors and integrated automation
- Technical Beverage — aftermarket parts and service
- Volumetric Technology - liquid filling
You’ll work out of our Winder, GA office and will fill three parallel roles. First, you’ll spend 70% of your time responding to our substantial flow of inbound leads, farming existing accounts for new opportunities, and aggressively prospecting into new logos.
Second, 30% of your time will be spent as the company’s lead technical expert on our capping equipment. You’ll provide application sales assistance to your colleagues across the Excelis portfolio.
Third, you’ll also be the key point of coordination between customers and inside resources. You’ll be the “voice of the customer”, manage inbound project inquiries, and assist with project coordination. It’s a challenging combination of new logo sales, customer service, and project management.
Ideal Candidate
This is a full lifecycle inside sales role focused on growth in new and existing accounts. You'll execute the Baseline Selling methodology and build your pipeline with rigorous follow-up on our substantial flow of inbound leads. You will also prospect, network, generate referrals, and use LinkedIn to create new opportunities in new and existing accounts. You will report to the SureKap GM with a dotted line to Excelis’ recently appointed Director of Sales, an industry veteran and amazing coach.
You've built your career in packaging machinery, process equipment, or closely adjacent capital equipment with a detailed understanding of machine technical details and business outcomes. You’ll be equally comfortable discussing application details with engineers, prospecting to owners and C-level execs, and supporting your colleagues in their deals.
Success will require extraordinary time management. Average reps will let customer service and application support consume their time. You’ll juggle that with diligent follow-up on leads and aggressive outbound prospecting. You’ll value CRM as a tool to keep you efficient, and your grit and attention to detail will keep you moving and focused. You'll be an effective prospector, skilled consultative seller, and proven closer. You’ll create projects, help customers, and support your colleagues.
You'll work from our Winder, GA office — with occasional (<20%) travel. Bachelor's degree required (engineering disciplines a plus) with at least 5 years in a similar inside sales role. Our team is too small for big egos.
Compensation
Base salary is competitive. Base is ≈$90k, and OTE is ≈$150K, with uncapped commission, including for other machines when you initiate projects. Benefits are standard and competitive.
