What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Co-ordinator position at Excelgens?
- Greeting and updating patients' insurance and demographics in the practice system.
- Verifying insurance coverage before patient visits and coordinating with staff to ensure medical records are ready.
- Handling HIPAA-related paperwork, collecting referrals, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Monitoring the waiting room, informing patients of wait times, and managing co-payments.
- Scheduling follow-up appointments and performing basic administrative tasks such as charge entry and appointment scheduling.
- Adhering to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements for handling patient information.
- Initiating reminder calls for upcoming appointments and assisting with other related duties as needed.
Skills:
- 2 years of Coordinating or administrative or medical office experience in a healthcare setting.
- MS Office Suite (Intermediate)
Education:
- High School Diploma or Associate degree in Secretarial Science or related field 2 years related experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- EPIC EMR Preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
