What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry-Level Computer Repair Technician position at Excelgens?
About the Role:
This is a great entry-level opportunity in IT where you’ll test and troubleshoot computer servers used in large data centers. Training will be provided, so you don’t need prior hands-on experience if you have the right interest or basic technical background.
Location: 350 Meadowlands Parkway, Secaucus, NJ 07094
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rates by Shift:
- 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:45 PM): $19.55/hr
- 3rd Shift (11:00 PM – 7:45 AM): $21.25/hr
- Weekend Shift (Fri–Sun, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM): $21.25/hr
What You’ll Do:
- Run system tests on computer servers
- Troubleshoot and repair simple hardware issues (training provided)
- Use testing tools and scripts to check performance
- Report issues to engineers or supervisors
- Keep your work area organized and safe
What We’re Looking For (any one of the following):
- Technical school or associate degree (IT or similar)
- Certifications (CompTIA, Network , etc.)
- OR 1–2 years of experience in hardware repair, helpdesk, or IT support
- OR recent graduates with relevant coursework (no work experience required)
Skills Needed (we’ll help train you):
- Basic knowledge of Windows or Linux
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
- Interest in computer hardware and troubleshooting
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand during your shift
