JOB SUMMARY: Excelerate Energy is seeking an Internal Auditor to join the Corporate Internal Audit team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact for customers and colleagues while helping evaluate compliance with company policies and programs. Reporting to the Manager of Internal Audit, the position is responsible for performing financial and operational audits and testing internal controls as part of the annual Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting assessment. The role supports all business functions across the company’s operating locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities:
Compliance, Audit Execution, and Advisory Support
·Assist management with the company’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts, including testing and assessing internal control effectiveness.
·Execute audits included in the audit plan, as well as special projects.
·Deliver assurance and consulting services across the company’s global operations.
·Assist management in updating and developing process documentation to support management’s SOX assessment.
Process Improvement, Risk Assessment, and Documentation
·Identify and support the implementation of process and internal control improvements.
·Develop an understanding of processes, risks, and opportunities through research and interviews with subject matter experts.
·Analyze data and processes to identify improvements in business processes and financial reporting.
·Develop sound recommendations to improve controls and business processes.
·Document work performed to support conclusions and recommendations.
·Coordinate with third-party service providers and external auditors as needed.
·Proactively solve problems and provide practical resolutions as a self-starter.
ABOUT YOU:
·Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical content to diverse audiences.
·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the initiative to develop and recommend solutions.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
·Proficiency in SAP is a plus.
·Experience working with global teams across different time zones is a plus.
·Open-minded and culturally sensitive, with a well-structured, self-driven work approach and an innovation-focused mindset.
·Over the long term, able and willing to travel up to 20% domestically or internationally.
