Independence Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our highly respected surgical team at Westmoreland Hospital. Practice Highlights
- Established cardiothoracic surgery program with strong regional reputation
- Approximately 500 cardiothoracic procedures annually – including surgical and structural procedures
- Participation in a Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) highly ranked program, emphasizing quality outcomes and data-driven care
- Robust referral network and collaborative medical staff
- 22 bed ICU and 10 bed Step down with 24/7 intensivist coverage.
- Long established cardiology program including interventional, structural and electrophysiology program with 4 interventional, 9 general cardiology and 3 electrophysiologists.
Clinical Scope
- Full spectrum of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery
- Minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic procedures
- Off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) expertise supported
- Opportunity to further develop and expand minimally invasive and advanced surgical techniques
Call Schedule
- 1:3 call rotation, providing a balanced schedule with strong team support
- Call coverage supported by experienced APPs and hospital-based teams
Support & Resources
- Dedicated cardiac surgery team, including cardiac anesthesiologist, perfusionists and specialized OR staff,
- Supported by a highly experienced and talented team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and dedicated clinical staff
- Modern operating suites and advanced imaging capabilities
- Strong cardiology collaboration, including interventional and structural heart programs

Qualifications
- MD/DO with completion of Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship
- Board certified in Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Interest or experience in minimally invasive and off-pump techniques preferred
