Engineering & Sales Support Technician Position Summary The Engineering & Sales Support Technician provides hands-on technical and administrative support to the Engineering and Sales teams, with a primary focus on activities that enable sales execution (mock-ups & prototyping, reverse engineering, sales sample packet creation). This role also supports internal engineering operations (trial orders, specification data integrity, sample management) and performs office manager duties related to shipping/receiving and front-office operations. Approximate time allocation for duties: Engineering 60% | Sales 30% | Office Manager 10%Reports to: VP, EngineeringWorks closely with: VP, Sales & individual Sales team members Employment Type / StatusFull-time, salary Work Schedule and LocationSchedule: Monday-Friday, General office hours (8am-5pm) – may vary depending on travel or special circumstancesWork location: In-office, Irvine CA (no remote availability) TravelInfrequent travel may be required for training, trade shows, or production site visits Compensation and BenefitsPay range: $73,000 to 80,000, depending on experience and qualificationsBonus: 10% of salary (with successful completion of annual goals company goals)Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k) w/ 4% match, 80 hours annual PTO, 40 hours sick time, 24 hours Personal Days, 14 office holidays Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngineering DutiesMock-ups & prototyping◦ Produce mock-up prototypes for new sizes/SKUs◦ Prepare mock-up prototypes to support fill testing and other sales-related evaluationsReverse Engineering◦ Assist the VP, Engineering with reverse engineering of competitive sales samples◦ Coordinate and process shipments to the factory for additional analysis when requiredQuickBase Specification Process◦ Perform data entry for sales-driven requests by inputting specifications into QuickBase◦ Verify accuracy, completeness, and applicability of specification data taking into account material and format requirementsAssist with processing Trial Orders in QuickBaseSupport existing Dieline and Artwork Review processes Sales DutiesSales Sample Packets◦ Assemble sales sample packets for sales representatives and customers◦ Coordinate shipping for sample packets on behalf of sales to ensure timely deliveryQuoting Support◦ Generate quotes after pricing parameters are established by Sales Secondary Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngineering DutiesSupport New Product Development initiatives in collaboration with VP, EngineeringReceive, document, and perform standard Intake process on weekly factory sample shipmentsMaintain 5S/LEAN organization of the engineering lab and sample storage areasMaintain Engineering data quality in QuickBase to support internal reporting for Mock-ups, CAPAs, Trials Tertiary DutiesSales SupportPerform Salesforce lead and opportunity cleanup per defined annual processGather leads using Lusha per defined processSupport market survey activities as assigned Office Manager ResponsibilitiesAnswer the front door and provide basic front-office supportReceive incoming shipments from courier services (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL) and route items appropriately through the officeProcess outgoing UPS shipments, including packaging/labeling as neededPlace and track monthly Amazon supply orders for the office, including janitorial supply requests Tools and SystemsThis role regularly uses and/or supports workflows in:QuickBase, Salesforce, SweetProcess, ZiflowAdobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Cutting Master/Graphtec softwareMicrosoft Word and Excel Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and ability to verify data accuracyHands-on ability, able to produce physical mock-up prototypes using flatbed plotter and sealing machinesAbility to multitask, managing multiple concurrent requests and prioritize based on business needsComfortable working with business systems and structured data entry (QuickBase, Salesforce, SweetProcess)Ability to process courier service shipments (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL) inbound/outboundProfessional communication skills with internal stakeholders and external customersOrganized, process-oriented mindset; ability to support or implement standard work and continuous improvement practices (5S/LEAN) Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in engineering support, product development support, lab/sample management, or related operations roleExperience working internationally with individuals of other culture and communication stylesExperience working with specification management systemsExperience working with mechanicals/dielines/AutoCADExperience working with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft productsFamiliarity with CAPA workflows and structured quality/process documentation procedures The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the work typically performed in this role and are not intended to be an exhaustive list.
