Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 (Based on industry experience, military & law enforcement background & certifications)
We are seeking an experienced Security Area Manager to oversee security operations across multiple commercial and residential properties in the NYC Tri-State area. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery, developing high-performing guards, maintaining strong client relationships, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and is committed to providing outstanding security services while supporting both clients and employees.
- Key Responsibilities
- Oversee security guards across designated commercial and residential properties to maintain consistent service quality and professionalism.
- Develop and implement guard training and performance improvement plans that meet client expectations, contractual obligations, and company goals.Assist with guard recruiting, screening, training, development and promotion.
- Foster a culture with guards of respect, accountability, professionalism, safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Building Superintendents & Managers through regular in-person meetings, telephonic and email communication, and property visits.
- Proactively identify issues and involve the team to develop a problem-solving strategy.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure all designated posts are staffed appropriately.
- Monitor assigned site operational performance, staffing levels, and scheduling to ensure efficient operations.
- Coach and develop assigned guards through regular performance evaluations, mentoring, and leadership development.
- Utilize scheduling software to identify and track scheduling and changes
- Ensure guard compliance with company policies, client requirements, safety standards, and all applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with the Executive team to identify and resolve issues, improve processes, and implement effective solutions.Maintain accurate documentation to support adverse actions against guards.Submit daily updates to the executive team with recommendations and actionable information.Serve as a liaison between the guard, company, and clients, ensuring exceptional service and long-term partnerships.Be available to respond to operational needs across assigned properties.
Required Qualifications
- Previous or current experience leading staff at commercial, residential, mixed-use, or multi-site properties.
- Leadership or management experience in security or military.
- Military leadership experience with an honorable discharge is highly valued and will be considered equivalent to formal education requirements.
- Valid NYS security and driver's license with the ability to travel between assigned properties and client locations using public and company provided transportation.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing guards.
- Experience supporting operations, staffing, and scheduling, Ability to foster strong client relationships
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to utilize software programs.
- Ability to manage changing operational demands and client expectations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and workforce management or scheduling software.
