Job Summary

The Pediatric Speech‑Language Pathologist provides evidence‑based assessment and treatment for children with communication, speech, language, social‑pragmatic, voice, fluency, and feeding needs. This role supports children and their families through individualized, play‑based therapy and collaborative care within a pediatric outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Evaluation — Conduct comprehensive speech‑language evaluations using standardized tools, caregiver interviews, and clinical observations.
  • Treatment Planning — Develop individualized plans of care with measurable, functional goals aligned with family priorities.
  • Direct Therapy — Provide engaging, child‑centered therapy addressing expressive/receptive language, articulation/phonology, fluency, voice, AAC, social communication, and early language development.
  • Feeding & Swallowing Support — Evaluate and treat pediatric feeding challenges when within scope and training.
  • Caregiver Coaching — Offer education, home programming, and ongoing communication to empower families.
  • Documentation — Complete evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in accordance with clinic and payer requirements.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Partner with OTs, COTAs, administrative staff, and referring providers to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
  • Professional Development — Maintain licensure, pursue continuing education, and stay current with pediatric best practices.
  • Clinic Culture — Contribute to a positive, inclusive, playful environment for children and families.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech‑Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred; CFs welcome with strong pediatric experience
  • Experience with pediatric populations, including autism, developmental delays, speech sound disorders, and language disorders
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Skills

  • AAC experience — Knowledge of low‑tech and high‑tech AAC systems
  • Feeding therapy training — SOS, responsive feeding, or similar frameworks
  • Early intervention — Experience supporting infants and toddlers
  • Social‑pragmatic approaches — Familiarity with play‑based and peer‑interaction models
  • Bilingual therapy — Ability to support multilingual families

Work Environment

  • Outpatient pediatric therapy clinic with sensory gyms, fine‑motor spaces, and child‑friendly treatment rooms
  • Frequent collaboration with OTs, COTAs, administrative staff, and caregivers
  • Emphasis on playful, strengths‑based, family‑centered care
