Position Overview: Excel Gymnastics is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and enthusiastic Tumble Program Director and Coach to lead and grow our tumbling program. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone passionate about tumbling, athlete development, and program innovation. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of the tumbling program, coach athletes directly, and collaborate with staff to ensure a fun, safe, and progressive training environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement structured lesson plans for all tumbling classes, tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Strategize and execute plans to grow the tumbling program, including outreach, marketing, and community engagement
- Coach beginner through advanced tumbling classes with an emphasis on proper technique, progression, and athlete safety
- Lead and mentor a team of tumble coaches, providing ongoing training and support
- Monitor athlete progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
- Communicate with parents and athletes regarding goals, development, and expectations
- Schedule classes, clinics, and special events in collaboration with the leadership team
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive training environment for all participants
- Stay current with industry best practices, coaching certifications, and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Prior experience coaching tumbling, cheer tumbling, gymnastics or acro (required)
- Leadership or program management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of proper spotting techniques and skill progressions
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for working with children and helping athletes reach their potential
Work Schedule:
- Class Hours: Monday–Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
- Classes run in three 1-hour blocks: 4:00–5:00 PM, 5:00–6:00 PM, and 6:00–7:00 PM
- Additional Hours: Time outside of class is expected for lesson planning, cleaning, and administrative duties
- Flexible office hours may be scheduled to meet program needs and support the growth of the tumbling program
