Material Handler/Warehouse Forklift Operator

EXCEL Group is seeking a skilled and reliable Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the production line by handling and distributing materials needed for the manufacturing process. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of our production operations.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Must have experience operating a warehouse forklift.

• Must be able to pass a drug screening and physical.

• Must be willing to complete and pass all required site training (Basic Plus, Site Specfic classes through Alliance Safety Council, and forklift training).

• Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including days, nights, and weekends.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Must be physically able to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

• Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines that fill 50-pound bags with PVC powder, seal the bags, label them, and place the sealed and labeled bags into boxes.

• Inspect incoming materials and components for damage, defects, or inconsistencies. Report any issues to the appropriate personnel and follow established quality control procedures.

• Safely and efficiently operate bagging and palletizing equipment.

• Weigh, label, palletize, box, and print bags while maintaining housekeeping, maximizing production rates, and maintaining final product quality.

• Provide support to packaging machines whenever necessary.

• A large part of the job involves sweeping up PVC powder that falls to the floor as a result of the packaging process.

• Stack boxes onto pallets that are loaded onto trucks via forklift.

• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Comply with company policies and procedures related to material handling and production operations.

• Work closely with the production team, supervisors, and other material handlers to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Material Handler or similar role in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Knowledge of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors.

• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and material labels.

• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials to prevent errors or mix-ups in production.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with other team members.

• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing production demands.

• Safety-conscious attitude and adherence to safety regulations and guidelines.

$18.50 per hour
