Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including power distribution systems, motor control circuits, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), instrumentation, and industrial machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on electrical equipment, such as inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or defective components.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions using test equipment, schematics, and technical manuals to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Test electrical circuits and components to ensure proper functionality, voltage levels, and current carrying capacity, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Calibrate and program PLCs, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems, and other control devices to optimize performance and meet production requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement electrical upgrades, modifications, and automation solutions to enhance process efficiency and reliability.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and service calls to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, minimizing downtime and production losses.
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulatory requirements governing electrical work, including lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash safety, and NFPA 70E standards.
- Document maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and parts usage accurately in maintenance management systems or work order software.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices on electrical maintenance practices, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field; journeyman electrician certification preferred.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or electrical technician, with a strong background in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems in an industrial environment.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose and repair electrical faults.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA) governing industrial installations and maintenance.
- Experience with electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and insulation testers.
- Knowledge of PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, function block diagram) and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, supervisors, and external vendors.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different job sites as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) safely.
- Comfortable working at heights and in environments with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
