What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiologist position at Excel Diagnostics & Nuclear Oncology Center?
Excel Diagnostics & Nuclear Oncology Center (EDNOC) has an opening for a full time Radiologist to join our team in Houston, Texas. The opening is for an onsite radiologist in a private practice. EDNOC is one of the leading outpatient diagnostic imaging and therapeutic nuclear medicine facilities in Houston, Texas. We offer state-of-the art imaging services including CT, MRI, PET/CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound, BMD, 3D Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine. EDNOC performs multiple sponsored clinical trials for development of new diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. All nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed by Board Certified Nuclear Medicine physicians in our group.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable interpreting all radiology imaging modalities and working in a private clinical setting and interacting with referring physicians, patients and technologist. Fellowship trained radiologists are preferred. Path to partnership is available after 2 years.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Board Certified radiologist with competency in interpretation of all radiology modalities (X-ray, US, Mammogram, CT and MRI)
- Possess a TX medical license or the ability to obtain a TX license is required
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review exam requests for appropriateness
- Prescribe exam protocols and modify as needed for specific clinical indications
- Provide oversight of technical image quality with feedback to technologists
- Provide clinical oversight of medication administration, including contrast and other medications relevant to the Imaging Service
- Participate in various aspects of quality assurance such as peer review, protocol review, appropriateness criteria and performance improvement
- Interpret imaging exams including relevant exam comparison and RECIST evaluation in oncology cases.
- Generate reports that contain pertinent findings and measurements, a description of normal and abnormal structures, discussion of differential diagnoses, recommendations and impression
- Support patient care services with reports timely to the care being delivered with the method of communication appropriate to the level of clinical importance or acuity
- Consult with providers on various aspects of imaging such as exam selection, review of results and other support functions.
- Perform FNA/biopsy of thyroid and breast lesions under ultrasound/mammography guidance.
- Make timely and definitive notification of time-sensitive results and/or results that have major clinical significance
