The Program Manager, Recruitment will serve as a central leader in advancing the mission of the Honors College through strategic recruitment, admissions oversight, on-boarding coordination, and student success initiatives. The position oversees major recruitment and yield events, leads marketing and communication efforts, supports the Honors Residential Community, and administers Honors College scholarships.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Honors College Recruitment
- Manage recruitment processes for all Honors incoming freshmen, current UTA students, and transfer students.
- Plan and track recruitment efforts for the College.
- Represent the Honors College at recruitment and yield events, both in person and virtually, on and off campus.
- Coordinate orientation presentations and activity fairs.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Admissions Office and other campus units that refer prospective students.
- Manage communication between recruits and the Honors College.
- Manage and train Honors Advocates to support recruitment efforts.
- Create strategies to expand out‑of‑state visibility and recruitment for the College.
- Chair the Honors Admissions Committee.
- Oversee admissions processes for all Honors incoming freshmen, current UTA students, and transfers.
- Serve as lead manager for communications flow within Slate (CRM).
- Verify applicant eligibility and maintain all student application files.
- Serve as primary contact for prospective students seeking information or applying for admission.
- Prepare and send admission decision letters.
- Maintain the student admissions database and prepare assessments of admissions outcomes.
- Serve as Honors Scholarship Chair throughout the advertising, application, and awarding cycle.
- Coordinate all technical scholarship processes and communication with students.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with scholarship requirements.
- Serve as co‑chair of the Honors On-boarding Team.
- Manage on-boarding processes for all incoming freshmen, current UTA students, and transfers.
- Manage all onboard-related activities and first‑year experience programming for the Honors Residential Community.
- Lead activities related to Honors College orientation and Convocation
- Serve on various University committees related to marketing, recruitment, and admissions.
- Meet with academic departments and campus units to increase awareness of Honors College opportunities and benefits for their students.
- Create and design recruitment materials, including brochures, banners, advertisements, and digital content.
- Manage and create content for official social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
- Increase overall campus awareness of Honors College programs and opportunities.
- Collect and analyze data on student trends to inform retention strategies.
- Assist with planning events that support student engagement and program completion, including field trips, Senior Celebration, student leader appreciation events, and new student welcome activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, marketing, communications or a related degree.
- Three (3) years of experience in program management, student recruiter, admissions, or related experience working with college students in a professional staff position or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, student development, or other recognized academic discipline.
- Previous experience working with Slate or other CRM platforms, such as Salesforce.
- Advanced familiarity with social media marketing and platforms.
- Previous experience working with admissions and recruiting in education.
- Ability to effectively utilize AI in a workplace setting.
- Familiarity with units related to student affairs, including housing.
- Experience with data assessment.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite and computer graphics programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and detailed organizational skills.
- Standard office conditions with the majority of time spent in contact with students, staff, and administrators.
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
- Use of manual dexterity is needed to occasionally lift or move objects.
