Job Overview
Exciting opportunity to work in a therapeutic environment
serving female youth at State certified group home facility serving youth, ages 8-
18. The Residential Worker oversee youth and be responsible for ensuring safety
of youth. Working knowledge of positive child/youth development; patience and
understanding of difficult life situations; the ability to interact with youth and/or
parents in a calm and professional manner; ability to follow oral and written
instructions; ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations; perform basic
computer functions; use time efficiently and effectively; ability to multi-task.
- State Certified Youth Group Home
- Most of the work is done throughout the building and in the community
- Local travel as required fulfilling essential functions of the position. Ability to provide coverage as needed.
- Ability to serve youth who have experienced a great deal of trauma and express their needs through behaviors.
Physical Demands: Duties require activity while supporting or interacting with
youth in the program. Staff may be required to use (trained) physical interventions
if there is immediate physical harm posed to youth or staff. Ability to lift 30
pounds. Driving is required.
Minimal Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of experience serving children with mental health needs, three years of experience preferred.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Working knowledge of computer applications preferred.
- Ability to display cultural competence by responding respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, languages, classes, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions and other diversity factors in a manner that recognizes, affirms and values the worth of youth and their families.
- Knowledge and skills to work with youth age 8-21.
- Valid driver’s license, automobile, and insurance sufficient to meet agency requirements preferred.
- Meet all the employee requirements including references, criminal background check, and driver’s license check.
Shifts available:
Thursday & Friday shifts available:
2nd Shift 2 PM to 10:30 PM,
3rd shift 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
Weekend Shifts start on Fridays and are 12 hour shifts:
3rd shift Friday 10 PM to Saturday 10 AM
Saturday 1st shift 10 AM to 10 PM, or 2nd shift 10 PM to 10 AM Sunday
Sunday 1st shift 10 AM to 10 PM
Holiday rotation required (Holiday pay)
***1st shift availability will start June 1st thru August 14th
Monday thru Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
