Job Overview
Mobile Mentors monitor and supervise students while they are on campus, primarily outside of the classroom. This includes assisting with morning arrival and dismissal, transitions in hallways during class changes, provide supervision in the school cafeteria during breakfast and lunch. Mobile mentors also conduct conversations with students regarding their attendance, progress reports, and report cards. Mobile mentors also attend school events and participate in fun school activities (such as field trips and hosting special groups).
Duties
- Build trusting relationships with students by providing safety and support.
- Collaborate with teachers and school support staff to coordinate resources.
- Implement engaging activities that promote learning, life skills, and positive behavior management.
- Monitor progress and document interactions accurately to track student growth.
- Provide crisis intervention or conflict management when necessary to ensure safety and stability.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or adolescents in educational, childcare, or social work settings.
- Knowledge of special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young people.
- Familiarity with child welfare practices and conflict resolution techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families and school staff.
