Regional Manager - Construction Field Operations

Examinetics Inc
Overland Park, KS Full Time
POSTED ON 8/30/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/28/2026
Position Overview

Progressive Safety, an Examinetics Company, is seeking a highly capable, relationship-driven Regional Manager - Construction Field Operations to help lead our growing field organization and support our clients and safety professionals across multiple construction projects and markets.

This position will work closely with Progressive Safety's Director of On-Site Safety Operations and serve as an extension of company leadership in the field.

This is not a traditional Safety Manager position focused solely on technical safety responsibilities. It is primarily a people, client, and operations leadership role within the construction safety industry.

The right individual will have a strong construction background, solid safety knowledge, excellent judgment, and an exceptional ability to work with people. We are looking for someone who can develop trusted relationships with field employees and clients, solve problems, manage difficult situations, recognize opportunities, and ultimately take ownership of day-to-day field operations across multiple projects.

Candidates with backgrounds such as Project Manager, Superintendent, Field Manager, Safety Manager, Construction Operations Manager, or similar construction leadership roles may be an excellent fit.

What We Are Looking For
  • Highly personable, approachable, and relationship-driven.
  • Strong construction experience and a practical understanding of active jobsites.
  • Enough safety knowledge to communicate credibly with experienced safety professionals and client leadership.
  • Able to build trust with employees while still maintaining authority and accountability.
  • Comfortable interacting with everyone from field employees and superintendents to project executives and senior safety leadership.
  • Proactive and naturally inclined to identify and solve problems before they escalate.
  • Comfortable having difficult conversations and managing different personalities.
  • Strong judgment and able to determine when to solve an issue independently versus when leadership should be involved.
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple employees, projects, clients, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly flexible and comfortable with frequent travel.
  • Coachable and willing to learn Progressive Safety's approach before operating independently.
Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Leadership & Field Management
  • Develop strong professional relationships with Progressive Safety's field employees across multiple projects and locations.
  • Maintain consistent communication with employees and provide additional support to new hires, struggling employees, or projects experiencing challenges.
  • Coach employees regarding performance, attendance, reliability, communication, professionalism, client expectations, jobsite relationships, and company expectations.
  • Identify and address employee concerns, personality conflicts, communication breakdowns, and performance issues before they become larger client or operational problems.
  • Set clear expectations, follow up on corrective conversations, and appropriately document significant employee issues.
  • Remain approachable and supportive while holding employees accountable and balancing the interests of the employee, the client, and Progressive Safety.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build strong working relationships with onsite client leadership, including safety leaders, project managers, superintendents, construction managers, project executives, and other key contacts.
  • During project visits, engage directly with the client rather than limiting the visit to Progressive Safety employees.
  • Proactively seek feedback regarding employee performance, upcoming project needs, staffing requirements, and potential concerns.
  • Identify issues early and work to resolve routine operational matters before they escalate.
  • Recognize potential opportunities for Progressive Safety that arise through client relationships and communicate those opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Senior leadership retains ownership of major client relationships, pricing, contracts, and significant business decisions.
Recruiting & Candidate Evaluation
  • Participate in Progressive Safety's candidate interview and selection process.
  • Initially work alongside the Director of On-Site Safety Operations to learn Progressive Safety's hiring philosophy, expectations, and interview process.
  • Progress into independently conducting candidate interviews and providing hiring recommendations.
  • Evaluate candidates based on communication, professionalism, personality, construction experience, safety experience, reliability, client/project fit, and cultural fit.
New-Hire Onboarding
  • Take ownership of the operational portion of field employee onboarding.
  • Prepare and communicate offer information and coordinate with HR regarding onboarding requirements.
  • Communicate project details, reporting instructions, schedules, client contacts, and expectations.
  • Ensure new employees are prepared prior to their first day.
  • Meet local employees onsite when appropriate and personally contact employees starting at distant projects to confirm a successful first day.
  • Maintain frequent communication during the employee's first several weeks and initial 30-60 days.
Field Presence & Travel
  • Expect approximately 50% or more travel, depending on project and business needs.
  • Travel may include local project visits, overnight travel, multi-state travel, and occasional short-notice travel.
  • During particularly active periods, travel may exceed 50%.
  • Enjoy being in the field, interacting with employees and clients, and staying closely connected to active projects.
Operational Problem Solving
  • Take increasing ownership of routine employee, staffing, project, and client issues.
  • During the initial development period, work closely with the Director of On-Site Safety Operations.
  • Progress from bringing an issue forward, to recommending a solution, to handling the issue and reporting back, and ultimately to handling routine matters independently.
  • Coach, manage, and correct employees while recognizing that termination, significant pricing, contractual, financial, and staffing commitments require appropriate leadership approval.
Emergency Field Support
  • Maintain enough construction and safety capability to provide temporary field support during a genuine emergency or critical client situation.
  • Help coordinate solutions for staffing gaps, call-offs, unexpected absences, and urgent client needs.
  • The role is not intended to routinely fill open safety positions or cover normal PTO.
Construction & Safety Knowledge
  • Maintain a strong understanding of construction operations and active project environments.
  • Possess sufficient safety knowledge to communicate effectively with Progressive Safety professionals and client safety leadership.
  • Understand when a routine safety issue can be handled directly and when a more technical matter should be escalated.
  • Maintain relevant safety credentials and continue professional development, including pursuit of the CHST when appropriate.
