About the Role:
The Quality Control Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that all manufacturing processes and products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for overseeing the quality control team, implementing inspection procedures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. The supervisor will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify quality issues and develop corrective actions. They will also manage documentation and reporting related to quality metrics, audits, and compliance. Ultimately, this role ensures that the manufacturing output consistently meets both internal standards and external customer expectations, supporting the company’s reputation for excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field. Certifications and/or equivalent experience instead of formal education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, tools, and standards such as ISO 9001.
- Proven experience supervising or leading a team in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Quality Management such as ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to the manufacturing industry, such as FDA or OSHA standards.
- Advanced problem-solving and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the quality control team to perform inspections, tests, and audits on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and protocols in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for process improvement.
- Coordinate with production and engineering departments to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and present detailed quality reports to senior management and participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Train and mentor quality control staff to ensure adherence to best practices and continuous professional development.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient quality control work environment.
